ALTIA CENTRAL is currently looking for 1 great person to join our team from September 1st, 2010, as Mixed Junior High school and Elementary school ALT in beautiful Toba city, Mie prefecture. Toba city is a small city of only some 25,000 people and is on the tip of the Ise Penninsula and a very famous and popular resort area. Toba is about about 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the heart of Nagoya city and much closer to other cities such as Matsuzaka, Tsu, Suzuka and Yokkaichi. This position also requires some travel each week by ferry to several small schools on nearby islands. Our Recruiting staff will mostly be conducting interviews at our head office in Nagoya city for these positions and others but do have several recruiting trips scheduled in other cities around Japan.
Successful applicants must be flexible, enjoy working with young children, and be motivated to go the extra mile to provide a positive experience for their students. A strong desire to continue to live and work in Japan, solid Japanese language skills, and some teaching experience with young learners is also highly recommended, and a minimum BA/BS degree is required for visa purposes. Successful applicants must also be available on Aug 23rd or 24th to meet the BOE and 4 days of Orientation/Training in Nagoya from August 25th to 28th (accommodation and transportation from Nagoya to your placement are paid for) before beginning in school.
