The British Council Thailand is looking for highly-motivated and experienced English Teachers to join our professional team. As a member of the teaching centre you will strive to deliver high quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups and takes account of individual learning styles to enhance the British Council’s reputation as a world authority in ELT. There are two available start dates: 8 August and Early October 2010. Please indicate your available start date on the Professional Profile.

Essential Requirements

• Hold either a Thai or British passport (Please note that this is essential visa requirement that is beyond our control)
• Very high proficiency in English with a first degree and recognised TEFL- I Qualification i.e. CELTA or equivalent.
• At least 200 hours of relevant teaching particularly in the age groups (7-11), and (12-16).
• Good customer service and strong team-working skills

The British Council Thailand can offer an excellent package for the right candidate, including flights from the UK to Thailand (or equivalent), baggage allowance, settling in allowance, medical insurance and home leave flights. Salary is paid in two components (Local Thai Bhat and sterling). Monthly salary ranges from 41,019 Thai baht and £281.00 GBP-59,746 Thai baht and £281.00GBP. Starting point on the 10 point scale depends on your qualifications and experience.
